Modex Energy supports transition to green energy construction sites with Charge Hub

Modex Energy (Modex) has signed a long-term rental agreement with Anlegg Øst Entreprenør (AØE), a large construction contractor in Norway, for the supply of a Charge Hub, an innovative fast charging solution developed by Modex in partnership with Supercharge.

Modex will deliver one Charge Hub 360kW Series 2 fast charging ISO container, designed for charging different types of electrical machinery including excavators and trucks, for approximately a year long period. The project will take place in the municipality of Gran and will support the construction of a 1000 metre environmental street; this project is one of the pilot projects for emission free construction sites undertaken by the Ministry of Transport.

The Charge Hub was developed in response to the Norwegian government’s aim to have fossil fuel free construction sites in the transport sector as a part of their Sustainable Development Goals. The provision of this fast charger to the construction sector by Modex is a step forward in helping industrial sites transition to fossil fuel free construction sites.

The government has set a target for 90% of machine hours on construction sites to be emission free; the development of the environmental street will be a key project for the measurement of these hours, as no road has been built in Norway with as low emissions of greenhouse gases.

Kjetil Skaaren, Business Development Director at Modex Energy, said, “We look forward to being part of this project where our Charge Hubs contribute to lower emissions of greenhouse gases. I would like to thank the contractor AØE who chose us, as well as Gran municipality, which invests in sustainable solutions.”

The new Charge Hub fast charging container is now available from Modex on a sale or rental basis; for further information, contact: Kjetil Skaaren, Business Development Director at Modex Energy on +47 948 88 414.

Modex Energy is part of the OEG Offshore group of companies.
